Bolzano in Advent: 1000 lights illuminate the Walther Square.

Bolzano and the traditional appointment of advent: the Christmas Market with all the typical atmosphere of the preparation of Christmas. The scents of the wine and the christmas pastry shop are stirred to the sounds of christmas music in an indeed only concert. Rich program of animation in the week-end in the Walther Square and the Churches of Bolzano.

During the Christmas Market some of restaurants of Bolzano and San Genesio offer, to fixed price, their characteristic menů. The menů reveal the extraordinary combination between the typically european kitchen and the taste of the Mediterranean tradition.

80 stallholders in their delightful little huts will be offering tasteful seasonal gifts (handmade wooden, glass and ceramic products along with charming Christmas and Christmas tree decorations, delicious seasonal pastries and many more original gifts), plenty of food specialities available plus cauldrons of mulled wine to gather around in the main square, while the authentic aura of an Alpine Christmas pervades the medieval streets.

In addition: a craftsmen's market, children's attractions, horse-drawn coach rides and secluded niches to savour an aperitif, like the Campofranco palace courtyard. 

Arrival

Piazza Walther, which is reachable by bus as well as by taxi, is situated in the heart of Bolzano's historic centre, just a few meters from the railway station.

If you are coming from outside Bolzano, you have to take the A22 Brennero-highway and exit at Bolzano Nord/Sud. Otherwise, if you are coming from Trento you can take the Strada statale SS 12 or the strada statale SS 38 if you are coming from Merano/passo Resia.
